Despite all the evidence to the contrary, they maintain that menhaden are merely suffering from poor recruitment – their half billion pound harvest has nothing to do with it: Don’t let them get away with it!

We’re asking you to call on the ASMFC to set a limit on the menhaden catch - for the first time ever - at a special meeting of the menhaden board in December. The commercial menhaden harvest must be reduced by 50 percent. The fishery must be allocated so that the reduction industry bears the brunt of the cuts, with most of the harvest earmarked for small-time bait boats.
